Fruit Filling
- 3 cups firm tart apples peeled and sliced
- 3 cups ripe but firm pears peeled and sliced
- Brown sugar
- Ground cinnamon
- Ground nutmeg
- 1 –2 tablespoons cornstarch
Walnut Crisp Topping
- 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup chopped English walnuts
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup cold butter cubed
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Peel and slice the apples and pears.
Toss the fruit with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch.
